Katehi believes that there is a trend of women having to prove themselves as qualified, while men are automatically assumed to have potential. Katehi hopes to see more women involved in STEM in the future. I always thought it would be good to share it with women who are willing to grow into new professions, and to share with them my own experience. About her appointment to the board of the for-profit college DeVry , she proclaimed, "DeVry Group's goal to enable a quality learning experience that inspires and educated students to be our next generation of leaders is essential to our nation's progress. DeVry is considered a very bad actor in the private postsecondary world which is saying a lot.
